CHAIR OF THE MICHIGAN DEMOCRATIC JEWISH CAUCUS THANKS SUPPORTERS FOLLOWING FIRST QUARTERLY CAMPAIGN FINANCE DEADLINE
Noah Arbit, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus, released the following statement today announcing the committee’s first quarterly fundraising numbers and thanking supporters.
LANSING, Mich. — "Since April 24, 2019, the day the Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus began accepting donations, my executive board colleagues and I have been blown away by the outpouring of support and enthusiasm Michigan’s Jewish community has brought to bear on this effort.
"I launched this Caucus to ensure that Jewish Michiganders have a voice in the Democratic Party and to build a Democratic agenda that places combating antisemitism among its highest priorities. Together with our partners in the Michigan Legislature, the Governor’s office, and the United States Senate and House of Representatives, Jewish Democrats in Michigan are beginning to make our voices heard.
"Over the past three months, Jewish Democrats and allies across Michigan have come together and raised $16,000 to fight for our values in Lansing and Washington, D.C. This number is far beyond my own, or anyone else’s expectations for what our Caucus could achieve as a nascent organization with no brand awareness or existing infrastructure. I thank our supporters and contributors profusely for their steadfast commitment, as it is only with their generosity that we are able to continue our work to advocate for our values, flip the Michigan House, and defeat Donald Trump in 2020.
"With a first quarter demonstrating the Jewish Caucus’ strength and viability behind us, I look forward to building on our success over the next three months and delivering a charter from the Michigan Democratic Party.
