Secretary Pompeo Damages U.S.-Israel Relationship with Illegal, Taxpayer-Funded RNC Address from Jerusalem
Most corrupt Secretary of State in U.S. history makes partisan mockery of Israel relationship by giving unprecedented, illegal speech to RNC while on taxpayer-funded diplomatic mission, says MDJC Chair
WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. — Noah Arbit, founder and chairman of the Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus condemned Secretary of State Mike Pompeo (R-KS)’ illegal and unethical decision to address the Republican National Convention while on a taxpayer-funded diplomatic mission in Israel:
“Republicans are gravely mistaken if they think Jewish voters in swing-states like Michigan will swoon seeing Secretary of State Mike Pompeo address the Republican National Convention from Jerusalem. Secretaries of State are prohibited from engaging in any partisan political activity. Pompeo’s illegal address will not highlight this administration’s alleged success in managing ties with Israel, but rather its governing ethic of corruption, self-dealing, and placing partisan interests above those of the American people. Secretary Pompeo further damages the U.S.-Israel relationship by setting Israel as the scene of his unprecedented partisan address, particularly given the Republican Party’s historic unpopularity with Jewish voters.”
