Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus Endorses U.S. Reps. Brenda Lawrence and Debbie Dingell for Re-election

LANSING, Mich. — The Executive Board of the Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus announced today the group’s endorsement of Michigan congresswomen Brenda Lawrence (MI-14) and Debbie Dingell (MI-12) for re-election in the August primary and November general elections.

“The caliber of leadership Brenda Lawrence brings to Congress has never been more vital for Michigan than during this fraught moment. As chair of the Congressional Women’s Caucus and co-founder of the Congressional Caucus on Black-Jewish Relations, Congresswoman Lawrence has dedicated her career in public service to advancing the opportunities of minorities and deepening understanding within and between Metro Detroit’s diverse communities. Black and Jewish Michiganders in particular have benefited immensely from the care and attention Congresswoman Lawrence pays to our communities’ concerns and challenges. For Jewish voters living in Michigan’s 14th Congressional District, Brenda Lawrence is by far the superior choice in this election. For these reasons, and many others, the Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus is enormously proud to endorse Brenda Lawrence for re-election.”

“The welfare of working families is the cause of Debbie Dingell’s life, and she is as tenacious a fighter for Michiganders - from Downriver to Washtenaw County - as one can find. We are inspired by Congresswoman Dingell’s commitment to authentically represent the diverse voices of her constituents - from Arab Americans in Dearborn to Jewish students in Ann Arbor. Congresswoman Dingell’s unabashedly progressive leadership on issues from increasing the affordability of healthcare, implementing common-sense gun reforms, combating the climate crisis, and confronting racism, antisemitism, and Islamophobia, is leadership of which we can all be proud. We thank Rep. Dingell for helping us launch the Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus in Washtenaw County in February, and we are proud to endorse her now as she seeks re-election in Michigan’s 12th Congressional District. Jewish voters in Ann Arbor and beyond have a tremendous advocate in Debbie Dingell.”

Noah Arbit, founder and chair of the Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus, added: “Brenda Lawrence and Debbie Dingell represent the best of who we are as Michiganders and Americans. I am proud to stand alongside Brenda and Debbie, and I know Jewish Michiganders will be in the trenches, fighting on their behalf, as these two outstanding leaders do for us every day in Washington.”
