Michigan Jewish Democrats Endorse Congressman Andy Levin, State Rep. Mari Manoogian
Chair Noah Arbit regards Levin’s leadership as a “salve in a time of anxiety,” Manoogian as as a ‘“force of nature" BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. — The Executive Board of the Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus voted unanimously to endorse Congressman Andy Levin (D-Bloomfield Twp.) and State Representative Mari Manoogian (D-Birmingham) for re-election in Michigan’s 9th Congressional District and 40th State House District, respectively.
Noah Arbit, founder and chair of the Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus, remarked, “Congressman Levin’s immense stature as a leader within the Metro Detroit Jewish community is unparalleled, and we are so lucky to have him as our voice in Congress. Communal representation matters, and Andy Levin’s leadership as a Jewish member of Congress is a salve to Jewish Michiganders in a time of anxiety. Andy’s strength of belief and of character typify the very best of who we are as Jews, Michiganders, and Democrats, and I am so proud to work with him on behalf of our shared values. I look forward to engaging my fellow Michigan Jewish Democrats to ensure Andy Levin is resoundingly re-elected in November.” “State Rep. Mari Manoogian is simply a force of nature,” Arbit continued. “In the time since her historic election to a longtime Republican seat spanning the heavily-Jewish areas of West Bloomfield, Bloomfield Hills, and Birmingham, Mari has made it a priority to stand up for the Jewish community in her district. I have had the honor of working with Rep. Manoogian in several capacities, and count her as one of the Jewish community’s strongest allies in Lansing. I could hardly think of a better leader than Rep. Manoogian to mark MDJC’s first-ever state legislative endorsement.”
