Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus Announces $100,000 in Grassroots Fundraising, Largest Investment in Jewish Voter Mobilization by Either Party in State History

MDJC Chairman Noah Arbit calls one year-old group’s grassroots fundraising success “humbling sign that Jewish Michiganders believe in the possibility of a better future,” are “not cowed by Republican smears against Democratic Party”

WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. — The Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus issued the following statement upon raising over 100,000 dollars from nearly 800 unique grassroots donors (99% from inside Michigan) since its launch in May 2019:

The grassroots fundraising success of the Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus is a humbling testament to the fact that Jewish Michiganders believe in the possibility of a better future for our state, nation, and world. It sends a strong message that despite well-funded Republican attempts to drive a wedge between Jews and the Democratic Party, those efforts have utterly failed to sway Jewish voters in Michigan.

As voters across the state begin receiving their ballots this week, the Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus will launch the largest targeted investment in Jewish voter mobilization by any political party in the history of the State of Michigan, combining traditional field organizing and advertising in the Detroit Jewish News, Washtenaw Jewish News, as well as a targeted digital program boosting the Biden-Harris ticket as “defenders of the Jewish community” against Donald Trump’s “existential threat to American Jews.”

Noah Arbit, founder and chair of the Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus, stated, “This effort has come so far since it began one and a half years ago at my Bubbie’s kitchen table. I am blown away by how Michigan’s Jewish community has rallied in support of MDJC’s work to combat antisemitism, fight for Jewish and Democratic values, and elect candidates who stand up for the Jewish community.”

“I founded the Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus to ensure Jewish Michiganders have a voice in the Democratic Party and to build a political agenda that holds confronting antisemitism among its core priorities. With the support of our partners in Congress and Michigan government, Jewish Democrats in Michigan have built the most sophisticated statewide constituency organization anywhere in the nation, becoming the gold standard of Jewish electoral mobilization, and influencing the work of counterpart organizations across the country. It is clear that Jewish voters are an electoral force in the State of Michigan, and the impending Democratic victories in November will surely reflect that.”
