President Donald Trump went on an anti-Semitic tirade on Saturday in Hollywood, Fla., while speaking to the Israeli American Council, as reported by the U.K.-based Independent and other media.

“A lot of you are in the real estate business because I know you very well; you’re brutal killers. You’re not nice people at all, but you have to vote for me. You have no choice,” Trump told the group, which is funded by Sheldon Adelson, a Las Vegas casino tycoon who’s a big supporter of the president.

The remarks have been condemned by many on social media. The Michigan Jewish Democrats issued a statement that the group is “repulsed” by Trump’s comments, calling him “the most antisemitic president this country has seen since Richard Nixon.”

“When a president of the United States appears before an audience of American Jews and calls them ‘brutal killers’ and ‘not very nice people at all, what do you call it?” the group said. “When a president of the United States makes obscene references to conspiracies of Jewish wealth and power, and deems some Jews to be insufficiently loyal to the State of Israel, what do you call it?”

Trump is set to hold a “Merry Christmas” rally in Battle Creek on Dec. 18.

“As we brace for the Trump circus’ arrival in Battle Creek next week, I hope the message from Michigan’s Jews to the President is clear: it doesn’t matter how many Jewish grandchildren he has, nor how many unilateral concessions he makes to Israel; we are sick and tired of an antisemite living in the White House, and on November 3rd next year, we’re going to vote him out,” Michigan Democratic Jewish Caucus founder and chair Noah Arbit concluded.
